+ Portfolios

I remain undecided about the best way to display my work online. To date some options I have used that had open sharing have created more trouble than benefit. Most notably, after winning a copyright theft case,  I was reprimanded by the judge because they said I had made it too easy for the defendant to access my work. I think they had a point.

There is also a darker side to open and free access. There are more cases of images being negatively manipulated. I am also aware of more cases of blackmail and attempts at shaming people. As far as I am aware this has not happened with my work, although I do not want to enable this behavior.

These are the reasons my profiles and online presence are set to restricted visibility. They are nearly all industry related, so the people that need to see them can as they are usually part of the same site or network.

I will add that the photographer Vivien Maier rarely shared or displayed her work. I am not suggesting that my position is the same as hers, but part of me does share the apparent unwillingness to let go of what I have created.
